Pizza and a speaker from Macromedia - what could be better?!?
On Monday, June 10th, from 6:30pm to 9:00pm
at the College of Law, Room 138, we'll provide pizza and Macromedia
will provide George Riley, speaking on ColdFusion
and Flash Remoting. The presentation will start at
7:00.
And we'll have a full version of ColdFusion MX Server Pro
for one lucky attendee!
Please note: this is a ** DIFFERENT DATE AND TIME ** from
our usual meeting. We expect this meeting to be full so please
arrive early for good seats. Map and directions to the meeting
place here.
Flash Remoting is one of the most exciting new developments
from Macromedia. Supporting both object-based RPC access and
XML document processing (in the form of ActionScript, XML,
and DOM), Macromedia Flash Remoting enables Macromedia Flash
to exchange data with remote services, including ColdFusion
components and pages, EJBs, Java classes, and .NET components
and pages. Macromedia Flash Remoting also enables Macromedia
Flash to easily connect to any web service without any additional
server-side development.
George Riley is responsible for developing product demonstrations
and tutorials at Macromedia, specializing in the ColdFusion
and JRun products. He received a B.S. in Computer Science
from the University of Texas at San Antonio and is a Sun Certified
Java Programmer. Prior to working for Macromedia, he was as
a consultant designing and developing web-based applications
for companies like General Electric, StorageTek, and MediaOne
in languages such as ColdFusion, PERL, Active Server Pages,
and Java.
